Firebase Test: Simple Series
Hi all ♥!
I'm just learning real-time database using Firebase today and sooo excited! It just ridiculously easy to use and I can't wait to develop more games using it. So I plan to create a series called Firebase Test where I develop simple games and make it live, online, multiplayer. This blog marks the first project I created. Also, you can suggest in the comments what games should I create next and all projects in this series will be available to download for free!
The first project is...
Firebase Test: Rock, paper, scissors
I was subscribing TechLead on YouTube when he publish a video about Coding with Firebase and I was so interested to learn about it. The coding process was so fast but I found it hard to understand since I have never used JavaScript or HTML in general before. So I looked up for tutorials online and take an onsite course in my city to learn web development. After 3 months, I have a basic foundation in HTML, CSS, JS, and a bonus PHP.
But I actually learned much PHP than JS in all my web development course before and I never know the true power if JS until I watch this web development tutorial by whatsdev (check out their channel, it's awesome!) teach how to create a rock paper scissors game and I created my own version of it. The tutorial consists a pure HTML, CSS, and JS game from scratch with no framework or any extended library. When I finish the tutorial, I feel confident with my JS skill and impressed how powerful JS is.
So back to my original plan to learn Firebase to make a real-time database game the fastest way I have ever seen. I found this article when I searched for "firebase crud" and start from that. Turns out it is the fastest way and the easiest way I have ever seen to create, read, update, and delete using real-time database. It's just ridiculously easy and I immediately apply the configuration to my rock paper scissors game and upgrade the CSS and stuff.
Finally, the game was complete!
And successfully tested with my friends from mobile and I'm from desktop!
If you want to give it a try or interested to create your own version of this project, the link (big text above) will open the game on your browser and there is a download button there for the project to download. Or there is a download button below that also works. That's all I got for today, thank you for reading it this far.
Have a good time for the rest of your day ♥!
